Tesla Motors is seeking an Electro-mechanical Engineer who has had 3-7 years of
design responsibility for systems with actuators, sensors, power switching, distributed
controllers.  This engineer will be responsible for the selection of components,
specification and design of subsystem interfaces, and will have a substantial role
designing low-voltage system architecture for Tesla Electric Vehicles,  This engineer
must be eager to work in start-up company environment with great opportunities for
growth and spectacular achievement.
This Role Requires:
-passion for electro-mechanical systems, inventing solutions, and finding better and
simpler ways to meet product requirements.
-a quick and flexible approach to information gathering, design, synthesis, and
collaboration.
-an understanding of technical details of motors, solenoids, pumps, switches, sensors,
relays, lamps and indicators, LCD displays, speakers, wiper systems, stability control
and active suspension, antennas. Analog and digital I/O and processing.
-strong capability to carry primary technical responsibility for component specification
and selection, interface design, and integration of electro-mechanical systems to meet
program requirements.
-fluency with device driver topologies and implementation, variable voltage and current
drive systems, driving inductive loads, etc
-fluency with signals and noise, shielding requirements, EMC/EMI/ESD protection and
conformance, grounding practices.
-fluency in engineering analysis and design of electrical circuits and systems
-building prototypes, developing and debugging benchtop systems, testing systems in
engineering vehicles, supporting production and service to solve problems.
-developing and maintaining bills-of-materials and production documentation
-reading and developing vehicle-level wiring diagrams and schematics.
-comfort working on multiple projects simultaneously, interacting with multiple teams,
and gathering data necessary to succeed delivering high-quality, low-cost solutions on-
time and on-budget.
This Engineer Should:
-have solid technical breadth in electrical engineering.
-have skills in the lab: debugging electrical problems on an complex electrical systems,
using multimeters, current measurement techniques, oscilloscopes, signal and
spectrum analyzers, and other means.
-be able to manage small project schedules and budgets
-ideally have experience with Automotive electrical systems, components, controllers,
and communication network architecture.
